I'm amused that some of your bests are ones I found boring (IE The National) and some of your worsts I really likes (Rooney). On the other hand, I didn't know Jason Faulkner had a new record out and I now will have to find it.

It's a re-release of a CD from 2009 that only got a Japanese pressing. It's really good!

I dunno: I am tired of Rooney's faux-surfer California guitar pop. They're doing the same shtick that Green Day did ten year ago, but show no growth. I found all the songs on the CD to be dull. Even the cover art was ugly. The National, on the other hand, is truly original. Five seconds into any of their tracks, and you know which band is playing. Beautiful, haunting music! In my opinion...

There's a group called Four Tet? :-.)

heh i note you don't listen to hip hop or rap? it's what i listen to most.

i'm really curious about Laurie Anderson's new album tho. i'm a fan.

Can you recommend anything? In the past I've loved Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, and Wu-Tang. But I stopped listening in the 2000s, and I don't know why. Maybe Eminem, OutKast, Kanye, or various singles, but that's about it.

i highly recommend two current albums, Eminem's new one is the bomb, and Drake's is lush and mellow.

Busdriver is awesome. Also worth checking out Jurassic 5 if you haven't before.

It's sad that I didn't know about Jonsi till I saw the end credits of How to train... I second the Busdriver recommendation.
